How these figures differ from other totals in the atlas

Regional series, 2025. Each region's temporal series (2000, 2015, 2020, 2025) gives the area used here: 14,236.73 ha across the six regions.

Mapped inventory. Some regions also publish an inventory of the latest mapping. Aseer's is 1,523.24 ha against 1,425.77 ha in its 2025 series, so inventory totals are slightly higher.

National GIS database, 2023. The living map reads the NCVC database mapped from SPOT 6 & 7 imagery: 14,240.73 ha.
